Village Life

Gardening Society

**Lower Hardres & Nackington Gardeners’ Society **

The Lower Hardres & Nackington Gardeners’ Society has long been a lively part of village life, bringing together people of all ages with a shared love of gardening, plants and the outdoors. The Society meets regularly throughout the year and is rooted in a tradition of friendly, community‑focused horticultural activity, helping to make our local environment greener, more colourful and more connected. The Society also supports local causes — for example, they have run a charity stall for the Kent MS Therapy Centre at village shows, offering refreshments and activities while raising funds for good causes.

Central to the Society’s calendar are its annual Spring, Summer and Autumn Shows, held in the Lower Hardres & Nackington Village Hall. These shows invite residents to enter flowers, vegetables, garden produce, crafts and more, celebrating the best of what our local gardens have to offer. In between shows, the Society organises social events such as quiz nights, talks and informal gatherings — all welcoming both seasoned gardeners and anyone who simply enjoys being part of the village community. New members are always welcome, and joining is a great way to share tips, swap seeds and enjoy gardening with neighbours.
