CCC Consultation on Community Governance Review
The Future of your Parish Council
Canterbury City Council is preparing to carry out a Community Governance Review which they consider is an opportunity to look at whether the current parish council arrangements are working in the best possible way.
The review could decide to change current parish boundaries, change the number of parish councillors or to merge, abolish or create new parish or town councils.
A committee of eight, only two of which are Rural Parish Members, has already been set up as have the Terms of Reference.
Unfortunately, the Chief Executive at a meeting specifically to brief Parish Council Chairmen and Clerks, used Lower Hardres and Nackington as an example for splitting or worse, due to the South Canterbury Development being built in Nackington.
To learn more please see Parish Council notes in the Parish News or read the minutes on our website www.lowerhardresandnackingtonparishcouncil.org.uk
The Parish Council would very much appreciate your views on possible changes and would be grateful if you would either contact the Chairman Cllr Douglas McCully or the Clerk on the address below.
